7 weeks old

I cannot believe that little jacob is 7 weeks old already. It seems like he's growing up so much faster than any of my kids did before. He's already busy trying to roll. He's started smiling. Before long he'll be running around and i'll be pulling my hair out lol. Poor little thing has a bit of a cough right now. At least he hasn't gotten it as bad as everyone else in the house. Gregory and Joshua had it really bad during the week. Nasty fevers, runny noses....poor boys felt like crap. Emilie and I both felt miserable this weekend. I'm feeling much better today but I'm afraid Emilie still isn't feeling too good. Lots of rest for my little lady today as she's got a field trip to the zoo this week and I sure don't want her to miss out on that.

Oh how interesting children can be....

I'm certain that without children my life would be seriously lacking in entertainment...heck I'd probably actually have to leave my house in search of it. Yesterday we were going out for dinner. In the parking lot Emilie and Isaac are discussing what kinds of food this restaurant has. I pipe up and tell her they carry mushrooms, onions and nasty old green peppers....so Isaac adds in that there's lots of liver. Emilie was absolutely disgusted about the liver. She says to us "you mean they serve the stuff that cats pee and poop in...that's gross!". Hehehe she's so cute.

Today the weather was miserable outside. Blowing snow...slushy roads...and just plain cold. I had promised Gregory that him and I would go to the coffee shop today but when we got there it was closed. So I thought we'd just drive to Airdrie and find a shop there. I got 5 mins from Irricana and had to turn around...the roads were just miserable. Anyway since he was so disappointed about not going to the coffee shop I took him to the grocery store to pick out a special lunch that he'd like. We get to the counter and he shows me this bubble gum and tells me to sniff it. He asked if I would buy it for him and I said no. After dropping the groceries off at the house and returning to the van I find my dear son chewing on some bubblegum...same stuff from the store. So I ask him where it came from and he refuses to answer to me. Well i finally got him to confess that he took it when I wasn't looking. I decided the best way to deal with this is to make him go back to the store and tell the clerk what he did and apologize. This clerk was amazing...she didn't yell at him but she made sure he understood that what he did was wrong and made him promise not to do it again. The poor boy was white as a ghost LOL. Hopefully that's the last time that happens.

Hmm looks like this is going to be a shortened entry as my littlest guy is screaming for me.

Here's some pics of the layouts i've been working on this week...

Happy One Month Birthday Jacob!!!!

I can't even believe that one month has passed already since Jacob was born. That's one month of feedings every 2-4 hours....up at 2:30am, 4:30 and 6:30 for feedings....but it could be so so much worse. He really is a sweet little thing. He loves to be cuddled (so much that i had to carry him in his snugly today while i washed the dishes). And when he gets really mad he sounds like a pissed off little lamb. LOL. He's starting to lose his wrinkled old man look and is chubbing up really good. I figured after a month the kids would be tired of him or just plain ignore him but no way...they still fight over who gets to hold him...and they still can't wait to see him in the morning. I really wish I had my own camera though so I could take more pics of him. We have Isaac's moms camera here right now but it's usually all packed up so we can give it back to her when we see her. Of course when we do see her we always seem to forget to return it. I really wish I could have a camera built into my eye ball so I could catch every adorable moment of his life.

Oh and the top picture is what happens when mommy forgets to turn the extra bright flash off...oops

Dedicated to my dear friend Haley Ross...

....who thinks her ability to care for a plant reflects on how she'll care for her future children.

These poor flowers had no idea what horrible fate was bestowed upon them when my mother in law brought these home for me. (This is them at 5 days old).
But on a brighter note....look how healthy and happy my kids are ;)

yummm healthy breakfast.....

Burnt almond by Cadbury. I remember buying these for my parents when they sent me to the store to pick up their smokes. LOL. I should clarify that this isn't all i'm having for breakfast...i did have a bowl of raisin bran first. Baby Jacob likes chocolate...so does his mommy. I think he eats it all though cause I just keep losing weight with him. Only 3 weeks and 4 days till little Jacob is due. I am so ready for this little guy too. Mom took me out shopping the other day and got us this amazingly cute swing! (see pics above). It actually makes this little starry light show on the canopy...so amazingly cute. Jacob is so gonna love it. I really wanna borrow someones baby so i can try it out....just not the same with a doll. We've been totally spoiled this week. Earlier Isaacs mom took us out shopping and got me my breastpump...maybe not exciting for you but totally great to me and Jacob.

HOORAY HOORAY...I interrupt this boring blog for some late breaking news....
